Privacy Policy
Albion Codex is a free, fan-made toolkit for Albion Online. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. Most of the site works with no account and no personal data at all.
Using Albion Codex without an account
You can use the calculators, market browser, build workbench, and almost every tool without signing in. In that mode we do not ask for or store any personal information about you. Tool settings and inputs are kept locally in your browser (local storage) and never leave your device unless you choose to sign in and sync.
Accounts and sign-in
Signing in is optional and only needed to sync your data across devices. We use Supabase for authentication and offer two sign-in providers:
- Discord OAuth
- Google OAuth
When you sign in, the provider shares a basic profile with us (such as your account identifier, username or display name, email address, and avatar) so we can create and identify your account. We do not receive or store your provider password.
What we store when you sign in
If you create an account, we store the data needed to give you the product across devices:
- Your profile record (account id and the basic provider details above, plus your saved favorites).
- Character sheets you add or import (character name, server, and Destiny Board mastery/specialization levels).
- Builds you create or save, and whether you choose to share them.
- A record of which product emails we sent you and your email preference.
This data is stored in our Supabase database and is tied to your account. We use it only to operate Albion Codex features (cloud sync, your dashboard, shared builds). We do not sell it.
Emails we send
If you have an account, we may send you occasional product announcements (such as major launches) and service emails about your account. We use the email address your sign-in provider shared with us.
- Every product email has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also turn product emails off on your account page.
- We never sell your email address or share it with anyone for their own use.
- Emails are sent through Resend (resend.com), which processes your email address on our behalf to deliver them.
Analytics
To understand how the site is used and improve it, we use privacy-conscious and standard analytics:
- Plausible Analytics (cookieless, aggregate usage).
- Google Analytics (GA4).
- Vercel Analytics (aggregate performance and visit metrics).
These tools collect usage data such as pages visited, referrer, approximate region, and device/browser type. We use this in aggregate to improve the product, not to identify you personally.
Advertising
Our guide pages show ads served by Google AdSense. The calculators and other tools do not show ads, and Codex+ members see no ads on guides.
- Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before personalised ads are shown.
- You can turn off personalised ads at Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Game data and third parties
Market prices come from the Albion Online Data Project. Item icons are served by the Albion Online render service and a community asset mirror. Killboard and player data come from the official Albion Online gameinfo API. These are public game data sources; using our tools may cause requests to them.
Albion Codex is hosted on Vercel and uses Supabase for its database and authentication. Your data is processed by these providers on our behalf.
Paddle (paddle.com) processes payments and billing details as our Merchant of Record. We receive and store your subscription details from Paddle (such as plan, status, billing period, trial and discount information, a Paddle customer ID, and records of refunds or chargebacks). We never receive or store your full card details.
Your choices and data requests
You can use the site without an account to avoid storing any personal data. If you have an account, you can disconnect providers and stop syncing at any time from your account settings.
To request a copy or deletion of the data associated with your account, contact us in the Albion Codex Discord (linked below) and we will action it.
You can also email us at support@albioncodex.com with any privacy question or data request.
Children
Albion Codex is a tool for a video game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
